Our 1/4 Pounder

Today was Amy's check-up with the sonography specialist to make sure everything is healing well and that all looks good. When the tech came in to do the preliminary check-up, she said everything looked fantastic! She proceeded to take measurements and pictures of the different parts. We found out that the baby's growth is EXACTLY on schedule, 14 weeks and 5 days, which is great news! We got to see a picture of the top of the baby's head showing both hemispheres of the brain! She also zoomed in on the heart and we saw all four chambers of the heart pumping away at 153 bpm. She pointed out the stomach and bladder within the baby as well. It really is amazing what technology allows us to do these days. When the doctor came in, he reiterated that everything looks amazing and that Amy can start easing into her normal activities again, and that he wants to see her every two weeks now intead of every week! We got the whole session on DVD so that will make a nice keepsake when you-know-who is a little older. We asked if he could see the "parts" in between the legs and he tried for a few minutes but said he couldn't make out anything because the cord was tangled in its legs (which is no big deal). He also mentioned how feisty it was....the baby was just kicking away! He/she weighs in at 4 ounces now. Amy's next appointment is August 13th so we should be able to update this with some more pictures at that point! We are so relieved to hear that everything looks wonderful now and that the problems she was having seem to be resolving themselves.

These next images are from today. I tried to scan them in, but the contrast was terrible so I just took a picture of the pictures....hope they turn out ok! The sono tech was joking about the first image, where the baby's hands are by its head...it is pretty funny! It was probably saying "HAHA I'm not opening my legs for you today! Better luck next time suckas!!!".....thanks kid.
